Train to Nice via Milan (Italy)

The Swiss Italian alps

The train travelled through the Swiss/Italian alps, so we at least got to see some snow and ice somewhere during our Europe holiday!! Very lovely scenery, hope the pictures through the train window come out.
It was incredibly easy to tell when we crossed the border into Italy, as the female border guard looked like she stepped off the catwalk in the latest fashions!!!
And the interim results are in on European Train Systems.
First place goes to the Swiss trains, cleanest, roomiest, on time, best washrooms; then we have the Dutch trains, then the German trains, and finally the Italian trains, which are less roomy, less clean, more crowded, and dirtier

Hey guys,
Hope you are having a good trip to Nice...
Yea, we are late for your Birthday as it is already Friday the 9 March for you guys (still the 8 Mar here).
Hope you celebrated this with champagne or at least some good wine. I am sure that you'll find Nice lively, and sure hope that you get warmer temperatures out there. Lots to see and do there also. Some really good little restaurant/cafe that are reasonably priced. I wish we would be there with you to show you around. Yves knows the place really well.
You both take care, again Happy Belated Birthday!!! We will be off to San Diego on Saturday. Really looking forward to it as temperatures here have been totally miserable in the last couple of weeks. It seems that spring does not want to come around. We had temp of -25C with windchill of -39C... not nice at all.

Cheers

Rene and Yves
